
Day 05 – NUWARAELIYA / YALA – 170KM – 3 HOURS
After Breakfast Leave for Yala via Tissamaharama En route visit water falls.
Visit the legendary Ravana Ella water fall which is linked with the Rama –Sita legend.
Ravana Ella – When Rama was approaching with his army, Ravana moved Sita to a densely forested locality in the Uva Region and hid Sita in cave known as Ravana Ella cave. Here one can see the beautiful Ravana Ella water fall about 4500 feet above sea level.
Sita is said to have roamed around in captivity in this area and bathed in a pool within a rock by the swirling waters of the Ravana Ella

Yala (Ruhuna) National Park Situated 309 km. south of Colombo, Yala is approximately 1,259 sqkm. In extent and is located in the south eastern corner of the island. Its northern boundaries border on the Lahugala Elephant Sanctuary and it has the added bonus of a scenic ocean frontage. The terrain is varied flat plains alternating with rocky outcrops.
The vegetation ranges from open parkland to dense jungle. Water holes, small lakes, lagoons and streams provide water for the animals and birds. The specialty here is the large numbers of elephants.
